Kehillah - Community
Brith Shalom is truly a synagogue family. We pull together and support each other in difficult times, give thanks and celebrate together in happy times. CBS is an ideal place to express your talents and interests and form lasting friendships.
Our members care for each other - whether visiting people in the hospital, comforting those in mourning, arranging meals for people struggling with a long-term illness, or delivering dinner to a home with a new child.
Join our thriving network of Chavurot - smaller groups of friends that meet on a regular basis for social or educational gatherings and holidy celebrations.
Chesed - Social Action
Our Religious School is an Anti-Defamation League "Community of Respect" - the first in the Southwest region. Diversity Outreach programs such as the annual Black-Jewish Seder build understanding and relationships with members of other faith traditions and cultures.
Brith Shalom's Tikkun Olam efforts reach out to those in need and help to repair the world. Among our many projects, we sponsor a perpetual clothing, food, and toileteries drive. Plans are now underway for the "greening" of the synagogue for the benefit of the environment.
Kavannah - Spirituality
The entire congregation participates in our egalitarian worship services with spirit singing, inspirational learning, and meaningful prayer. Congregants often take the opportunity to lead services and chant from the Torah scroll.
Babysitting is available free of charge during all morning Shabbat and holiday services.
For children in pre-school through second grade (and their families!), Mini Minyan welcomes Shabbat with joy, song, and dance. Relax and socialaize with other families after the service over snacks. Kidshul, every Saturday morning at 10:15 a.m., includes storytelling, prayer, and other Shabbat-friendly activities.
