Daniel Levin's debut novel, The Last Ember, is a gripping literary thriller about the high stakes search for the legendary Tabernacle Menorah, a priceless historical artifact stolen from the Second Temple in Jerusalem two thousand years ago and never recovered.

November 14 - 15
The Fair will present the Houston premier of The Dybbuk, a chamber opera composed by Ofer Ben-Amots and based on the celebrated Yiddish play of the same name written by S. Ansky during the turbulent years of 1912 - 1917.

Houston SleepOut

is a fund-raising event to be held on November 14, 2009.
SEARCH's Young Ambassadors group aims to communicate the issues of homelessness and transform lives by connecting with young professionals in a meaningful way.  

Houston SleepOut

   Where:     Sesquicentennial Park Commons, Downtown Houston
   What:       Spend the night to raise awareness for the homeless
   When:       Saturday, November 14th, 5 p.m. - Sunday, November 15th, 7 a.m.

Faces of Homelessness Program:
Starting around 7:30 pm, the Faces of Homelessness Program will begin. It will feature speakers and entertainers who have overcome their struggles with homelessness.

Lights Out:
Once the program concludes, participants will return to their sleep sites. "Lights Out" is scheduled for 11 p.m. and all participants will be asked to maintain a respectful silence for the remainder of the evening.

Morning Program:
The morning program begins with a wake-up call and light breakfast. After breakfast, participants will clean-up their sleep sites and, at the conclusion of the morning activities, collectively walk back to Lot C.
