Adult Learning
Congregation Brith Shalom offers the following adult learning opportunities:
Jewish Learning House Call: One-session home learning
A one-time home learning session with the Rabbi. The organizer invites 15-20 people to their home, arranges for kosher desserts, and determines a topic with the Rabbi. Contact the Rabbi at rabbi.teller@brithshalom.org to set up your Jewish Learning House Call!
Real Life Torah: Three-session group study
A three-session study group on a contemporary, relevant subject, such as: Talking to your children about God, Women and Spirituality, Making Marriage Work, Men and Masculinity. The leader of the group gathers attendance and arranges for participants to bring coffee and kosher cake. Our Adult Learning Chair will help you manage and support your Learning Group. Contact Steve or Wendy Lerman for more information.
Torah Study Group: Monthly or Weekly
Join or create a monthly study group! Call or email our Adult Learning Group Chair, Steve or Wendy Lerman. Each group has a leader to serve as the organizer and liaison.
Limmud and Food
The purpose of the Limmud and Food programs is to bring congregants together, stimulate them intellectually and spiritually, and forge a deeper connection between them, Judaism, and the congregation as a whole.
The program consists of a series of talks on a variety of interesting topics, both Jewish and secular, and is offered on the 4th Wednesday of every month.
The programs are free and open to all the community. They usually take place at Congregation Brith Shalom from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM, followed by an optional lunch at 1:00 PM.
Sisterhood Study Group
Organized in 1985, the Sisterhood Study Group continues to meet each Monday, 9:30 to 11a.m. in our synagogue library. The Study Group is open all women who are members of Brith Shalom and who support our sisterhood.
Whether the group is peer led or we have a teacher, there is lively conversation pertaining to a Jewish Topic. Please feel free to join us in studying.
The Florence Melton Adult Mini-School
In addition to adult learning opportunities within our congregation, Brith Shalom also encourages members to join the Florance Melton Adult Mini-School network. Click here for more information.
